In this hypnotic film, acclaimed director Werner Herzog explores the life and death of Timothy Treadwell, authority on preservation and the life of the grizzly bear. For thirteen summers Treadwell lived unarmed amongst the bears in their habitat at the National Reservation of Katmai in Alaska. Mostly alone, he observed and studied their behaviour, taking photographs and filming his experiences. At the end of 2003 the remains of Treadwell and his partner were found close to their camp on the reservation. With GRIZZLY MAN, Herzog takes a profound look into the mysteries of both the natural world and human nature…

Dans ce film hypnotisant, le réalisateur reconnu Werner Herzog explore la vie et la mort de Timothy Treadwell, grand connaisseur des grizzlys et de leur protection à l’état sauvage. Treadwell a vécu sans armes dans l’habitat naturel des ours en pleine Réserve Nationale de Katmai en Alaska pendant treize étés, en les observant et étudiant leur comportement, photographiant et filmant toutes ses expériences. Fin 2003, les dépouilles mortelles de Treadwell et de sa partenaire ont été retrouvées près de leur camp dans la Réserve.
