Assumindo a posição de coreógrafo supremo da superbanda, Scorsese captura a luz dos Rolling Stones, como se estes fossem personagens de uma sua longa-metragem. Mick, Keith, Ronnie e Charlie são caracterizados como elementos individuais dentro de um exímio colectivo. Não se limita a filmar apenas o espectáculo, neste caso a realização volta a ser o próprio espectáculo. Os preparativos para o concerto são deliciosos e o concerto pode ser dividido entre o antes e o depois da entrada de Buddy Guy, um peso pesado do blues que empresta energia à banda de sexagenários...

As a supreme choreographer of the super-band, Scorcese captures The Rolling Stones’ light, as if they were characters in one of his feature films. Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie are characterized as individual elements of an eminent collective. This film is not about the filming of the show, in this case Scorcese’s direction becomes the show. The concert’s preparations are delicious, including an amusing conflict between two creative egos over details of direction and choreography. The concert can be divided into a before and after the entrance of Buddy Guy, a heavyweight bluesman who lends a new energy to the sexagenarian band…

En assumant la position de chorégraphe suprême de la super-bande, Scorcese capte la lumière des Rolling Stones comme s’ils étaient des personnages de l’un de ses longs-métrages. Mick, Keith, Ronnie et Charlie sont montrés en tant qu’élément individuel de ce collectif remarquable. Scorcese ne se limite pas à filmer le spectacle, sa réalisation devient le vrai spectacle. Les préparatifs pour le concert sont délicieux, et on pourraît presque diviser le concert entre « avant » et « après » l’entrée de Buddy Guy, un poids lourd du blues qui fournit de l’énergie aux sexagénaires...
