On the border between Iran and Turkey, Panahi, as himself but also as a character, is directing a film from a distance. Some kilometers away, his team films an Iranian exiled couple. Meanwhile in the village he is staying, a story of a secret passion is also revealed. Between fiction and reality, this incredible film, which questions the nature of cinema, portrays two parallel love stories. In both, the lovers are disturbed by different and invisible obstacles, superstition and the mechanics of power.
