It is the story of the difficulty of the reintegration of former prostitutes. Kuniko tries to escape prostitution and look for a new life, revealing at the same time a certain fragility and a great determination.

Sophie reflects on the shared joy of a holiday she took with her father twenty years earlier. Memories both real and imagined fill the gaps between, as she tries to reconcile the father she knew with the man she didn’t. First feature film by Scottish director Charlotte Wells, a revelation at this year’s international festivals and is certainly a graceful and singular film that gives diffuse form to memory.

Considered one of the founding films of the Portuguese movement, Novo Cinema, it was the first feature film directed by Paulo Rocha. It is a film that evokes themes and problems that are still very relevant today, particularly with regard to the problem of housing and macho violence. A performance that opens with experimentation, putting the images of the film in dialogue with a new text, written and read live by Bruno Humberto and Candela Varas, with the music of Carlos Paredes, transcribed to the harpsichord by Joana Bagulho.
